Rough Comfrey (Symphytum asperum) (22/05/2022) Footpath along river adjacent to A283 alongside old cement works site/Dacre Gardens, Upper Beeding, W Sussex. It has these very blue flowers and red buds and rough bristly hairs on the calyx and stem (hence "Rough"!). The only possibly similar would be Russian Comfrey but that is softly hairy and usually has flowers from pale pink to blue washed with red.
